As a lifelong fan of the Detroit Pistons, I’d like to congratulate UCONN legend Geno Auriemma for this, the dumbest take from the dumbest article yet written about Caitlin Clark.

seeing a lot of discourse on things like moralistic views of cheating and public shaming and I think we're losing sight of the main point here: a CEO is sad and that's fun.

She didn’t spend six years in β€œHow To Fire People” school to be disrespected like that.

I’m neither a theologian nor a historian, but it seems to me that these developments are localized to Evangelical Christianity in the US.

I think it’s time people realize that Evangelical Christianity is in a state of de facto schism with Christianity as it has been traditionally understood and preceded.

The DeSantis administration has not made public a list of names of the immigrants held at the facility in heavy duty tents at an airstrip in the Florida Everglades.
Individuals sent to the makeshift detention center do not show up in an
online government database that allows the public to search for immigrant detainees' whereabouts. Lawyers say they
have had difficulty locating clients sent to the site, often learning that they are there when detainees call family members.

An enforced disappearance is considered to be the arrest, detention, abduction or any other form of deprivation of liberty by agents of the State or by persons or groups of persons acting with the authorization, support or acquiescence of the State, followed by a refusal to acknowledge the deprivation of liberty or by concealment of the fate or whereabouts of the disappeared person, which place such a person outside the protection of the law (Article 2 of the ICPED and Preamble of the Declaration on the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance)
It is characterized by three cumulative elements (defined in A/HRC/16/48/Add.3):
1. Deprivation of liberty against the will of the person;
2. Involvement of government officials, at least by acquiescence;
3. Refusal to acknowledge the deprivation of liberty or concealment of the fate or whereabouts of the disappeared
person.

Florida is committing "enforced disappearance," a very serious violation of international human rights law.

If you’re not white, or you have friends or loved ones who aren’t white, or you’re not a total sociopath and therefore care about fellow humans who aren’t white, you need to understand this regime thinks not being white is inherently suspect, and lots of your fellow Americans are fine with that.

I was referring to the government lawyers who are clearly lying to Judge Xinis and have been for months now, not the people you very admirably represent.

Aside from hearing some strongly worded lawyer code, those lawyers will continue to face no consequences and their actions won’t change.

Not trying to dunk on this person or Judge Xinis, who I believe is acting in good faith, but this is another example of how non-Trump-aligned institutions don’t realize we are in a post-rules era.

Currently, statements cannot be β€œexplosive.” Put someone in a cage or get out of the way.

Americans have questions about whether there is a monster under their bed. They expect honesty and transparency from their government. For years, people who asked if they should jump those last few feet so the monster won’t grab their ankle were dismissed, even vilified. This ends today.

Instead of β€œAlligator Alcatraz” or β€œAlligator Auschwitz”, let me suggest that we call it simply the Dade-Collier Concentration Camp.

Hang the name on Florida. Make them own this disgraceful moment in U.S. history. Make our grandchildren lobby to change the name of Dade County out of shame.

It’s funny, Nazi comparisons used to be considered trite thought experiments offered only by the weak-minded.

It’s possible they were more helpful than we thought.
