Very much related: Dame Adelekun undoubtedly one of the best bigs in the league, averaging 12.4 PTS and 9.4 REB across all games (15 & 10 in his last 5). That's along with a league best 68.4% shooting. We have him as going 126/179 (70.4%) in the immediate basket area this season.

Across the past 10 games - Surrey rank 4th in Net Rating in the SLB (+2.3) behind only Leicester (+7.7), Sheffield (+7.86) and London (+12.8).

Given per game stats don't take account in pace, looking at opposition Free Throw Rate (e.g. FTM/FGA), Eagles still come out on 'top' (in terms of amount of FTs given up in proportion to opposition FG attempts going back 10 years).

Across all games this season Newcastle Eagles are giving up 22.92 Free Throw Attempts per game - highest amount in the league. In fact this is the highest per game average we have in our records (going back to 14/15). Next highest: Plymouth who gave up 22.90 in both 22/23 and 23/24 seasons.

Sharks rank last in proportion of points scored in the paint - so figures that they attempt the most mid-range shots in the SLB (as a proportion of total shot attempts). Helpfully they are a league best 43% on those mid-range attempts.

The Sheffield Sharks are shooting a league best 37.4% from 3pt range and rank #3 in 3pt attempt rate (with 38.6% of their shots coming from behind the arc).

Prentiss Nixon went 8/10 from 3pt range at Bristol on Friday. In the last decade of top flight British Basketball the only player to notch a higher 3P% on at least 10 attempts: Scott Martin (9/11) for Newcastle vs Bristol back on 17th-Feb-2017.

Staying with Jaylin Hunter - he leads the SLB in assists per game (7.8), whilst averaging just 1.9 turnovers in over 31 mins per contest. That kind of Ast:TO ratio puts him in pretty rarefied air. Here's the top 10 players in Ast:TO ratio since the 14/15 season (min 15 games & 10 mins p/g):

Hard to overstate the importance of Charles Thompson and Jaylin Hunter to Leicester. In Plus/Minus this season Thompson is +210 in his 593 mins, Hunter +204 in 652 mins. These are highest totals in the league. Duke Shelton and Conner Washington are -49 and -55 in 239 and 195 mins respectively.

The 6'6 Knight is also now Newcastle's leading rebounder at 5.86 per game, edging out 6'5 Josh Ward-Hibbert (5.85 RPG).

Seneca Knight through his first 12 games went 8/47 from 3pt range (17%) culminating in a 0/16 4-game stretch. In his next 11 games he's went 23/43 (53%)...

Leicester's opponents also only shooting 30.73% from beyond the arc (lowest % in the SLB) whilst also having by far the lowest 3pt attempt rate.

London turning opponents over like crazy (15.5x per game / 17% of possessions). Leicester meanwhile force the highest proportion of deep-2pt shots, have the highest Def Reb% and concede fewest 2nd chance pts by far.

London (103.44) & Leicester (103.86) by far the best defensive numbers on the season.

Per Livestats shot chart data - both only allowing 53% shooting at the basket - lowest numbers in the league.

Caledonia (-10.86), Manchester (-5.03) & Surrey (-4.97) bottom 3 in NET rating.

Above them Newcastle have now slipped into the negative (-1.64 for the season). The Eagles are -7.88 over their last 8 games with a 116.88 Def Rating (worst in the league in that span).
