i have been asking claude to make a curriculum for ML to teach myself, and it has been doing a fabulous job.... AI is now a master/teacher

The U.S. war on Iran is now estimated to cost $1 billion per day. Meanwhile Americans are told thereβs no money for healthcare, hospitals, or basic social programs.

hmm, now the result of the faculty job application is conclusive. and yes, i did not get any job! I was the first reserve (again!!), and the other person accepted (again!!). It is a sobering situation. good that i have been looking for other opportunities, and frankly there are many exciting ones
03.03.2026 22:14 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0trying that for 10 years (5 year phd +5 year postdoc) is long enough, and i think i did non-trivial good work that moved the discussions around the landscape of string theory in a constructive manner. so i have done enough. I should know my worth, and embrace other opportunities.
03.03.2026 21:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0frankly though, if there is only one job in my field in the entire western hemisphere (because i have to exclude cornell for obvious reasons), trying to get an academic job is equivalent to spending all one's money on lottery with the hope that one will get lucky.
03.03.2026 21:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0None other than the legendary Donald Knuth is officially impressed by what AI can do now in trying to solve open math problems (this one in finding cycles in lattice digraphs): www-cs-faculty.stanford.edu/~knuth/paper...

haha thank you so much for doing this for me! If there is a good opportunity for me in chinese academia, i would definitely consider.

oh from observer in QG to QCD is a big jump!
I don't have good advice unfortunately as i am novice in this direction. Sorry Faust
i have been writing things in python
01.03.2026 22:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I should really make simulating super lattice qcd within this year myself a goal. It would be so cool if I can do that
01.03.2026 10:49 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Frankly playing with claude code is so much fun.... I can do so many things I simply put aside, because those things would've taken too much time but not any longer with ai...
01.03.2026 10:48 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I predict that many computational bottlenecks will be removed with the help of ai coding tools. Then it would be truly exciting time to do a high level thinking
01.03.2026 10:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What an Era! I cannot imagine how much more people can do in science with this awesome tool
01.03.2026 10:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is exciting that I can use claude code to write some impressive codes to reduce the computational burden significantly to do some good calculations in string theory
01.03.2026 10:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0I pushed my first repo to github! I will start creating more codes. The current one is private that may be made to public soon

28.02.2026 02:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yeah that would be super fun
28.02.2026 02:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0given how good ai is at writing codes, maybe this is something i can do as a side gig
27.02.2026 23:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0it would be amazing to put KS gauge theory on a lattice to study the anti-d3-brane instability definitively to end the KKLT debate once and for all. if i have more resources, maybe i can do the lattice qcd simulation myself
27.02.2026 23:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This problem looks rather reasonable to solve?
