Trump is sure talking about death and the afterlife a whole lot these days.

I once contemplated writing a TV drama series about Crowley's battle with WB Yeats over the ownership of the O.T.O. and despite my dislike of Crowley my research made me find him more likeable (up to a point) than Yeats, which is saying something.

Nadia from London has an idea that sounds such fun you'll be booking a day out asap.
"I've always loved museums," she says,
"but they can be overwhelming for children. For decades now, I've done something called 'playing postcards'
We do
the museum backwards, visiting the gift shop first. Each child gets to choose three postcards. Then they take it in turns to find that particular artwork in the museum and give us a little information about the piece from the details on the postcard, or from any gallery plaque. At the end of this treasure-hunt-style activity, we vote for our favourite in the cafe."

This is such a clever idea on taking kids to museums/galleries

I like how they gave the Nobel Prize to someone fighting for democracy in Venezuela, instead of someone sinking fishing boats off their coast.

Hard agree - there are very vivid examples of why the disappearance of a functioning centre right option in a system which props up the two largest parties every single day, when the news reports on the Trump administration.

Trump's Confederacy rises again The Lost Cause doesn't seem all that lost anymore.

New in PN: Trump's Confederacy rises again

"The straightforward explanation for Trump’s Confederacy fetish is that he’s a virulent racist who would’ve enslaved people himself. If you think that’s hyperbolic, just listen to the man."

Again, you cannot unplug 1/4-1/5 of an R1 university's budget & expect the same quantity or quality of "things" on campus. The math simply doesn't work. And pretending it does & we can uphold our "core values," & not talking loudly & publicly about how it doesn't, is not a strategy. It's madness.

One last thought: This is the kind of attack that conservatives have been making against liberals forever (think limousine liberal), and conservatives make it because they think that caring about anyone else is stupid. It doesn't work when you're also trying to make the argument that you care more.
