according to this chart, home ownership hasn't gotten "better" since 1975. but it did get "better" during the exact period of the subprime mortgage bubble, until that fell apart- really bringing contradiction to the term "homeowner" if they lost it

So to make the case that things are “easier than ever”- it’s also easier than ever to lose everything because everything has adjusted into a rental state. You rent everything. You own very little. Access is improved, but ownership hasn’t. And the latter is what makes a life stable.

Well let me put it this way about that analysis, if you killed everyone below the median, the median marker would improve. That right there is a problem with looking at it that way.

You can say technology is better than ever before, but so is the exploitative markets (housing, gambling, medicine)
