Good question! And short answer is that I don’t know. But I’m sure how we formalized the transformations in the paper is an oversimplification. Lots more to do! I added your paper linked in the OP to my reading list. Perhaps the answer is there!

My lab’s first attempt at characterizing reference frame transformations during tool-extended sensing. Very happy to see this out!
