It’s a podcast about both history *and* folklore. After a thousand years, Edric the Wild was a historical figure and a folkloric hero. Both can be true, and both can be good.

I’ve very sorry you’ve not received what you need from my mention of him.

I inferred no such thing.

That said, there’s very little evidence of *most* people existing a thousand years ago. Even Shakespeare barely left a footprint outside his plays (only half a dozen of his signatures exist, and he spelled his name differently in almost all of them).

A couple of things:

(1) Our sources are always posted publicly on the Lore website (the link is right there in the episode description).

(2) We never said Edric the Wild wasn’t a real person. Here’s the actual script for that portion of the episode in case it helps.
