I would LOVE a Snazzy cooking lesson!
Every time I visit my parents, I try to get them to make me cook something. Great bonding exercise, and I come away with a little more confidence & knowledge each time. I can only get by with meatless chorizo jambalaya and frozen veggie stir fry for so long.

I learned that the 5th Interval informs power chords. Thus E5, A5, etc. A lot of songs start w/ that interval, (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Star Wars Theme).
I played String 5 3rd fret, String 4 5th fret, and the Falconer song popped in my head, so I ran with it until I found the right notes 😅

It was mostly spurred on by JustinGuitar's lessons on Ear Training & Music Theory.
One of the exercises was to figure out how to play Happy Birthday when only knowing the first note. My ear is already really well-trained from singing & dance, so I found it quick.

That's the thing, I don't! I've had a guitar since I was 16, but I pick it up every year or two to learn and then stop after 2-3 months. 😅
I dunno how long it'll last, or if I'll reach my songwriting goals, but it is fun!

I'm learning to play! Because I have no self-control and want to do everything despite there not being enough time for it all 😂

I do wanna talk about the process of learning, practicing, & creating music, or most art!
I do also have a lot of transferable knowledge on goals & habits from my experience in dance, my art degree, and research. So, I don't need every contextual variance explained 😅

There's a certain point where people reply to one of my posts, and it feels like they're talking to a general audience instead of to me, and that's when I just delete it :x

Yeah, a big thing for arts and hobbies of all kinds tbh! I'm just very wary of the grindset mentality, and the way it gatekeeps or reduces accessibility for things that people might find a lot of joy in with a more encouraging approach.

Oh, for sure, but especially starting out, I find it discouraging to be told that you won't have success unless you light yourself on fire. People have different goals in learning an instrument, same as they have different availability. Gotta rest too! ^v^
