It's not even winter yet and I'm already dreaming of warmer days! This is from my 2023 visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan. This place is great if you like walking up steep sand hills! Seriously though, it's very beautiful and worth a visit if you've never been.

Does everyone have their holiday lights up yet? I found this nicely decorated dog house last year at Kings Island amusement park in Ohio! Woodstock is too cute!

Where are my Swifties at?? You don't have to be a Taylor Swift fan to appreciate that her Eras Tour was one of the most significant and ambitious concert tours in history. I was lucky enough to attend a show in Toronto last November - a truly magical experience!

Welcome to the last month of the year! Did your part of the world get snow over the weekend? Mine got quite a bit! This photo is from the small town of Cadillac, in the northern part of Michigan. This is supposed to be an ice tree. I think it melted a little and just looks weird, but A for effort!

This lovely picture is from 2005 when I visited the island of Barbados. I looked a lot younger 20 years ago, didn't I?? I would love to visit Barbados again, such a beautiful island.

You know me, I love a good beach! This is from my 2018 visit to the island of Aruba. Can anyone hear the word "Aruba" and NOT think of the Beach Boys song?

Happy Thanksgiving! Earlier this year, I made a stop at the Berkeley Plantation along the James River. They lay claim to the site of the first Thanksgiving in 1619. Historians note that in the early days, the celebration of Thanksgiving was a religious experience, not a festival of food. Bummer.

'Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the house...everyone is baking or getting ready for tomorrow, right? Here in the Midwest it's freezing cold and snowing like crazy. If you are traveling, be safe! Me? I turn my mind to warmer things, such as Death Valley National Park!

This is from my visit to Little Havana in Miami, Florida in 2023. I didn't know that chickens smoke cigars. Maybe in Cuba they do? Everyone smokes cigars in Cuba so probably the chickens do too.

This is King's Square, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. The park was named after King George III. America fought a war of independence from this guy, but here in St. John, they named this park in his honor. The nerve of some people! I was here in 2017.

This is a famous landmark just outside Detroit, MI. The Uniroyal Giant Tire was created by the United States Rubber Company for the 1964 New York World's Fair, where it functioned as a Ferris wheel. Since 1966 it has been a static display alongside Interstate 94 in Allen Park, MI. I saw it in 2023.

This is from my visit to Milwaukee, WI last March. The official name of this place is the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory. There are 2000 species housed in three giant domes. Based on the architecture, would it shock you to learn this place was constructed in the 1960's? No, probably not.

After all that humid tropical air last week, I really need the desert to dry me out! Unfortunately, I am not there - this photo from Phoenix, Arizona is from 2024. Nevertheless, I am thinking dry thoughts!

In 2015 I visited the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve in Northern California. During the 1870s the area was set aside as a natural park to preserve 805 acres of coast redwoods. It was taken over by the state in 1934. The place is beautiful and peaceful and you should visit if you can!

I must have received my permission slip because I was finally able to visit Hogsmeade! This was actually from 2014 when I visited Universal Studios in Orlando. I love all the fake snow on the rooftops. Oh, and butterbeer. I loved the butterbeer too.

Yeah, pretty cool, right? They had a logistics problem of getting the shuttle back to Florida when it landed at on of the alternative sites (CA or NM). This is how they solved it.
