Following our story yesterday about the feds' decision to cancel a proposed ban on mineral mining in the Pecos watershed, NM's federal delegation is reintroducing a bill to protect the area.

The Navajo Nation's agreement with company Energy Fuels to allow uranium transport from a mine in Arizona to a mill in Utah has a provision regarding a proposed NM mine near Mt. Taylor.

If approved, that could mean a max of 50-60 uranium trucks a day across the nation and NW NM.
