5/7: in the astral sea, jayce and viktor cling tightly to the rune closed in viktor's fist as the anomaly spools apart. TEXT: "when he at last succeeds in unravelling fate You lay down the loom and enter that great unmaking without fear:"

6/7: panel 1: the mage's hand wistfully traces a red thread. TEXT: "for each thread unwound to the thinnest filament--" panel 2: the mage's silhouette, bright white against the dark, observes images of other viktors: a child, a scholar, a leader, and the herald, whose cracked-open mask bleeds red threads. TEXT: "dreamer scholar leader lover reaver--"

7/7: a series of panels of mage viktor returning to the white space of his wasteland, where hexcorized jayce awaits. viktor sits, leans back against jayce's form, and he, too, unravels. TEXT: "each path will still collapse into the same singularity because all of them are *you*, and you were always his."

3/7: post-anomaly jayce trudges just out of frame, leaving a bloody track behind him as mage viktor watches, always in his rearview. TEXT: "He treads one path to a future you cannot follow"

4/7: panel 1: close crop on a slice of mage viktor's face, watching another jayce go. TEXT: "Because each of them are him," panel 2: viktor's silhouette turns back to the hexcorized jayce, pierced through with red growths. TEXT: "and none of them are *yours.*"

jayce braces himself to pull the trigger on the hexcorized hammer. the space around him distorts with the neon pinkbluegreen of the anomaly; fractured versions of jayce claw at his face and reach out, screaming, to the victim they're about to create. old mage viktor curls over jayce's shoulder to cover his eyes with his hands, his white cloak forming a cosmic veil around their figures.
