I thought he was great 20 years ago, then his first episode back on the Daily Show in 2024 was almost entirely "omg look how old Biden is".
I don't know if he lost the plot over the years or he's always been this way and it just wasn't obvious before, but he's certainly not worth listening to now.
Gundam Wing, of course, remains utterly batshit in basically any context, but a good time none the less. It's been many years since I watched Endless Waltz, and I honestly don't recall if I've ever watched it subbed before, but it was a nice addition to round out the night.

It works really well.

Not like there were 1:1 parallels with anything, just that it felt like a similar story of characters from a variety of backgrounds coming together to make their way through a shitty world as best they can. It's ultimately optimistic, without being naive or saccharine.

Okay, that was actually good? Definitely felt like a compilation movie where a bunch of stuff was very obviously cut out in the edit, but overall still pretty enjoyable. It got across the characters and the bones of the story just fine.
I'd absolutely watch a full version. Hell, I'd play the game.
About to watch Urdr Hunt in theaters. From everything I've heard, my expectations are rock bottom, but I can't pass up the opportunity to see it for myself.
Besides, it's a double feature with Endless Waltz, so won't be a total loss in any case.

The genius of G Gundam is that it takes its emotional stakes completely seriously even while its aesthetics are somewhere between Saturday morning cartoon and pro wrestling.
It's pure camp, but doesn't wink at the audience over its own ridiculousness, it invites you to come along for the ride.
Trying to roller skate uphill is already a powerful metaphor, but doing it with ice on the ground takes it to a really artful place. I commend their commitment to the bit.
