Taste, pain, or response to stress — nearly all essential functions in the human body are regulated by so-called G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Researchers @biozentrum.unibas.ch have uncovered the fundamental mechanism how such a GPCR works, using a method similar to the earth satellite GPS.

Today, the ERC formally adopted a decision to increase its support for researchers moving to Europe.

On top of its normal grants, the ERC offers 'start-up' funding to help PIs establish laboratories / research teams in Europe.

This extra funding is now x2 (up to €2 million!)
