Nonetheless most abortions in Poland continue to be facilitated by grassroots and international organisations. Abortion Without Borders facilitated 38,508 abortions for Polish residents in 2025 – most via medication sent in the post from abroad.

These abortions are not included in official reports

In 2024, the health minister issued legal guidance to hospitals, asserting that “risks to health” which allow doctors to legally perform an abortion include mental health and that an abortion can be performed if a qualified psychiatrist judges it to be necessary.

However, the new data suggests that increasing number of abortion seekers are able to access the procedure under the two remaining legal avenues: by proving that the pregnancy is a result of crime, eg. rape or incest, or that it puts their health or life at risk.

Prior to the 2021, foetal disability was cited as the reason for up to 98% of legal abortions in Poland. When the Constitutional Tribunal ruled that terminating a pregnancy on this ground was unconstitutional, the official number of abortions fell from 1,076 in 2020 to only 107 a year later

Palestine Action protesters not guilty of defence firm burglary The group are cleared of aggravated burglary over the alleged raid at an Elbit Systems warehouse.

After 17 months in prison, 6 Palestine Action members have been cleared of all charges over an alleged raid on Elbit Systems. What an embarassment for the government and their expansion of 'counter-terror' measures.

Rusted screws, metal spikes and plastic rubbish: the horrific sexual violence used against Tigray’s women Tens of thousands of Tigrayan women report brutal wartime abuse by Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers, such as gang-rape and the insertion of objects into their uteruses. But justice seems a distant pros...

Never will I forget how the world treated this genocide and how the so-called "human rights" Ethiopians and Eritreans opining on everything and anything were cheering on this genocide.

Fatima converted to Islam in the 1880s after joining Liverpool's temperance movement. She was a working class woman who saw Islam as a hope for social reform and female emancipation. She was a cofounder of UKs first mosque where she also taught. Unlike her male contemporaries, she was forgotten

This is long overdue, & a good reference point for tackling one of the darkest aspects of Norway's history.

That the most populist right-wing party opposed the measure is an important sign that this motion is very, very necessary.

Abortion isn't legal in the UK, but is legally permitted in certain circumstances.

This places it in a precarious position.

Actually making abortion legal would give it a firmer foundation should the right want to go all project 2025 in the UK as well.
