Ukraine banned from Nato, Russia readmitted to the G8 and territory ceded: whatโ€™s in Trumpโ€™s draft plan Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he expects to discuss the plan โ€“ which was reportedly drafted by Russian and US officials โ€“ with Trump

So we are back to might makes right.. or perhaps it never went away? This is a terrible deal for Ukraine which Trump and Putin have cooked up together. The Russians are sending subs off NATO waters and they get rewarded. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...

Employment Rights Bill

It was back in the Lords again yesterday.

And again the Tories and Lib Dems voted to weaken the bill in 5 areas:

1. Weaking rules banning zero-hours contracts

2. Removing day 1 protection from unfair dismissal

3. Disagreement over a definition of seasonal work

As an aside itโ€™s why Iโ€™m against PR. Voters in a local area should get to decide who their MP and be able to vote them out.

I donโ€™t know. I think if the polls stay the same there could be Caerphilly type elections all over where one progressive party is rallied behind. Reform are proving to be popular but they are the most hated too. With boring old FPTP voters can choose their local MP.

The Covid inquiry delivers its report on phase 2 on Thursday at 4pm.

I can think of no finer marker than to prosecute Tory ministers and former PMs for their part in the absolute criminality of the pandemic.

Thousands dead. They deserve justice, be who you are meant to be Keir and go after them.

I like having a dull government. Rather than pandering to the frankly deranged press they just continue to get on with the bloody job.

I think in a ideal world yes, but I donโ€™t share your optimism on how it would go *right now*

I think the year before an election is when you can start campaigning and tell people โ€œlook we promised weโ€™d try it and it doesnโ€™t work - you are feeling the effects - letโ€™s change courseโ€

14.11.2025 07:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The evidence from last time suggests this wouldnโ€™t happen. False promises on the side of buses, bendy bananas and donโ€™t forget all the lies in the media. No, you canโ€™t have a prolonged debate etc when one side is so unserious. They would just lie again and weโ€™d be back to square one

14.11.2025 07:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

They are literally just trying to keep this rubbish going - trying to destabilise a Labour gov

14.11.2025 07:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I think he would need to do that nearer the election so that he has a mandate. I think campaigning for it now would only throw a lifeline to reform whose only headlines at the moment are crumbling council administrations. They would love nothing more than a fight over Brexit.

My government is doing things differently.

Free Breakfast clubs supported by Sainsbury's, Weetabix, Morrisons and Magic Breakfast.

More than 23 million free toothbrushes and toothpastes to protect children from tooth decay through our partnership with Colgate UK and Ireland.

Ensuring there's a library in every primary school by the end of this parliament with the National Literacy Trust.

Partnerships like these deliver change where it matters most, raising standards and creating opportunities for children across the country.

Labour are doing things differently in government.

One of these is more partnerships.

At a time when money is scarce these partnerships bring great initiatives to save money or make it go further.

The UK employment rate is UP under Labour

I didn't post about this earlier in the week when the data was released, but because yet again the media only gave half the story and mentioned unemployment, I've corrected several people today. So I need to point it out.

If you are calling for Sir Keir Starmer to stand down, who ever you are, then you are doing Farage's work for him.

It's the way his desire for an election in 2027 comes about.

Just shut up and stop it. Let the government get on with the job we elected them to do - and which they ARE doing.

And yet the FTSE continues to march towards 10,000 mark.

And markets continue with their support of Starmer and Reeves.

Despite our media. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

All the rich presenters on LBC upset that they will be made to pay tax- so they are stirring against Starmer.

The media will do *whatever* it takes to destabilise a Labour government. They are there to protect the interests of the rich.
