Citizen of the world. John le Carré deplored the aggressive nationalistic sentiment behind Brexit. UK deserves better than Brexit. Let's join the EU #FBPE

think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn't been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially gencrates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he'll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

A good day to listen to our proud, joyous history of the BBC: One of the greatest British inventions of the 20th Century. An institution which, even at its worst, is far better than its detractors podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

This is the most abysmal, pathetic thing. The BBC head resigning because the corporation is not supine *enough* to the far-right.

A big win for people more outraged by a silly edit at the BBC than by a man impeached by Congress for literally inciting an insurrection being back in the White House. Pathetic.

I continue to think that the BBC is one of Britain’s most important institutions, and it has been an honour to occasionaly contribute to their work in recent years. It has set international standards of journalism.

Have to say.. very tired of this now. We all know Brexit is a shitshow. Nothing is better. No one is happier.
No one who really cared about our country or understood how anything actually worked would do this and then stand around scratching their heads at the mess.

Just painful that Reform’s foot-stamping ‘we’ll do Brexit properly’ shtick would - in reality - be an entirely unworkable and ruinous meltdown, on top of the ruinous meltdown Brexit has already created. Why TF are these wildly ignorant fantasists taken seriously?

Very amusing to watch Reform complain about all the things wrong with the UK - every one caused by Brexit - without actually mentioning Brexit, as if they happened by magic.

only in the small print of this article do they make clear that the pensioners paying an extra £2,500 of tax would have to have
“earnings over £125,140”

I know many pensioners are asset rich but how many have income at that level?

Lowe doesn't need the money but the 'thrill' of engagment can be just as corrupting as the love of cash & if engagement/cash increase according to the extremity of the opinions expressed then you need integrity to resist the temptation to become ever more offensive. This is what Musk has engineered.

When Reform and Tories are goose-stepping ever further towards ethno-nationalist extremism, planning mass deportations of immigrants and Farage talks of a returns deal with the Taliban, it would seem that many of the poppy-police have entirely forgotten what Remembrance Day is all about.
