Am I the only one who gets a real kick out of citation chains? Reading people's writing and footnotes, and making assessments and notes, finding the sources in the footnotes and reading them yourself, and making more notes?
I...love it?

Drum roll please... the books have been tallied and with over 500 total votes and more than 350 unique titles mentioned, the favorite books of #LibFaves25 are:
18.12.2025 13:33 β π 56 π 17 π¬ 3 π 3Well that was meant to be Day 10, but thatβs what I get for doing a mad scramble in the end.
18.12.2025 01:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of The Hounding by Xenobe Purvis. Background is a painting of green hills with three large, lean dogsβone black and white, one black, and one white and brown.
Itβs a tale as old as time in THE HOUNDING, my Day 19 and final #Libfaves25 pick. Man thinks girl should smile more. Girl ignores man. Man accuses girl and her sisters of witchcraft. This book was a whole vibe and I enjoyed it start to finish.
18.12.2025 01:25 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cover for The Names by Florence Knapp. Background is a grassy hill with a flower that has three different blooms coming out of a single stemβone white, one orange, one purple
THE NAMES, my #LibFaves25 Day 9 pick, wrecked me. It was incredible how one choice leads to another and another⦠What is so remarkable about this story is that it has the same threads, but they are woven together differently with possible narrative.
18.12.2025 01:21 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of Mα»Ή Documents a novel by Kevin Nguyen. Background is black and white on the bottom with a black oblast as the focal point. The top part of the background is bright green.
Mα»Ή Documents (MY DOCUMENTS) is my #LibFaves25 Day 8 pick because I read it months ago and am still thinking about it. Unfortunately it seems to have become even more timely.
18.12.2025 01:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of the Shelly Laurenston book To Kill a Badger. Background is purple with a white celtic knot in the center and a black and white tigerβs head with mouth open in a roar.
Day 7 of #LibFaves25 goes to the book I couldnβt wait to get my hands onβTO KILL A BADGER. I love this series & these characters. Whenever I want an escape, the MacKilligan sisters, their friends, & their awful father who just wonβt die are there to make me laugh.
18.12.2025 01:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Enjoy! Yeah I canβt explain why the cover bothers me so. But the story itself lives up to every bit of the hype.
13.12.2025 16:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of Bring the House Down a novel by Charlotte Runcie. The background is pink with red theater curtains, the one on the left tied back with a lit fuse line.
BRING THE HOUSE DOWN is my Day 6 #LibFaves25 pick. When a nepo baby critic gives your show one star & sleeps with you before you find out, the only appropriate response is to redo your show to take him down & send his colleague into a spiral questioning power in art, misogyny, & who gets to be mad.
13.12.2025 15:29 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cover to Heart the Lover a novel by Lily King. Itβs an orange background with pink shades eyes that have half daises drawn on the bottom with petals falling and pink shaded lips.
Day 5 of #LibFaves25 is a reminder to never judge a book by its cover because wow if there is anything I hate, loathe, despise, and abominate, itβs the cover of HEART THE LOVER. Honestly still annoyed with how I devoured this achingly perfect read in one day because ugh that cover.
12.12.2025 20:24 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Cover for Sky Daddy a novel by Kate Folk. Background is a blue sky with some clouds and front portion of a passenger airplane
Buckle up, buttercup, because SKY DADDY is my #LibFaves25 Day 4 pick. I was warned and still was not prepared for this book. The premise may not be for everyone (definitely shelve it if youβre flying anytime soon), but the way Kate Folk draws you into and tells this unique story is incredible.
11.12.2025 20:00 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of the book So Far Gone by Jess Walter. The lower part of the cover has a drawing of a wooden glen.
#LibFaves25 Day 3 goes to SO FAR GONE. I picked up this one because I heard it described as a modern day True Grit. It is, and so much more because John Wayne would never, and I mean that in most complimentary way to Rhys Kinnick.
11.12.2025 01:57 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Cover of the book Friends of the Museum by Heather McGowan. The cover is of a Renaissance-esque painting of 4 individuals attacking each other
Day 2 of #LibFaves25 is FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM. This minute by minute accounting of 24 hours of staff-created calamity up to and including a museumβs gala is my favorite kind of messy.
10.12.2025 03:33 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Book cover for Mutual Interest, a novel by Olivia Wolfgang-Smith. Background is a old timey NYC skyscraper tinted pink
Day 1 of #LibFaves25 goes to MUTUAL INTEREST, the book Libby reclaimed before I could finish that I immediately turned around and bought because I had to keep reading. Succession but make it queer and Gilded Age with my favorite narrative voice possibly ever.
09.12.2025 02:08 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And here I thought it wasnβt possible for me to love the em dash more

In the foreground, Mapping Scholarly Communications in Law Libraries poster with the date (5/23/25), a photo of the Library of Congress reading room, and text describing the conference that is too small read. In the background is a conference room.
So excited about the expertise in this room (and on Zoom)!

Just want to correct a common error I'm seeing people making: St. Patrick's Day is not the only holiday where it is customary to blast Dropkick Murphys. Labor Day is also an appropriate holiday to blast Dropkick Murphys.

20.02.2025 02:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Background is a stage with yellow fabric draped in the background and chairs with reading stands. In the front right is a program with Goodbye, My Fancy by Fay Kanin Directed by Jess Chayes
Come for the 40s screwball comedy, stay for the 1948 indictment of higher ed that is uncomfortably close to the present. Broadway revival with the entire reading cast please and thank you. #classicstage #goodbyemyfancy
11.02.2025 03:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I canβt remember how much actual science was involved, but I remember being obsessed with the Disney channel movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century back in the day. I vaguely recall a book series too.
31.01.2025 20:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This might be the first positive thing I can point to for ChatGPT, but, more importantly, where does it stand on the Oxford Comma?
14.01.2025 18:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This past year Iβve gotten involved with the Friends group for my local library & have attended town council meetings to advocate for funding. Itβs horrifying how many people have no idea how publishers are bleeding library budgets dry with ebooksβinstead they blame the library.

30.12.2024 02:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Happy Festivus everyone. Always amazed this crazy episode birthed a real celebration that seems to be enjoyed by so many around the world. So may your feats be strong and your grievances few. Enjoy.
23.12.2024 16:42 β π 37518 π 5056 π¬ 942 π 292Playbill for Cult of Love play with a family portrait of the cast below the title. Production stage is in the background.
This script + this cast = perfection

This is on par with finding out that the little piggy that went to market wasnβt going grocery shopping
06.12.2024 14:34 β π 33 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0Playbill of The Blood Quilt. Words The Blood Quilt are in red over a pastel patchwork quilt. In the background is a stage with bright colors, meant to evoke a quilt.
So many layers to familial legacy, cultural legacy, and the fact that the sisterly bond is a complicated one.
