Congrats to our cofounder @manjushakulkarni.bsky.social (@aapiequityalliance.bsky.social) for being named one of @carnegiecorp.bsky.social's #GreatImmigrants of 2025 for her fierce advocacy for AAPI communities. 🎉

The directive also provides guidance on how to interact with ICE agents and aims to ensure that residents can access city services without fear.

She expressed support for efforts to provide needed resources to community members and appropriate guidance for city departments to uphold our laws and constitution.

Our Executive Director, Manjusha P. Kulkarni, participated in the press conference, and explained what the impacts of the raids have been for AAPIs. Bangladeshi students being picked up outside a snack shop in Koreatown and Thai workers being abducted in a Home Depot parking lot in North Hollywood.

On July 11th, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass signed an executive directive to protect LA's immigrant communities, who have experienced detentions and deportations as a result of a month of ICE raids.
