It’s being said a lot that the shadow of Iraq is hanging over Keir Starmer and the Labour Party during this Iran crisis.

It absolutely should. What’s remarkable is how little much of the British media and the rest of politics seem to be thinking about it at all, or learning its lessons.

Does anyone remember that during the Brexit campaign, one of Nigel Farage’s arguments for leaving the European Union was to allow the UK to adopt a fairer immigration system for Commonwealth citizens?

Now he’s saying they shouldn’t be allowed to vote proving yet again the sort of country he wants.

Most Reform members believe non-white UK citizens born abroad should be forced or encouraged to leave, poll finds Nigel Farage’s recent efforts to woo centre-ground voters may cause tension in party’s right flank, says Hope Not Hate

Do recent recruits not realise that their own voters want to deport them and/or their parents or do they just not care?

Northampton Reform UK councillors resign from the party One of the two women says there have been "misogynistic undertones" in her treatment.

❌ Blythe said that after reflection, she could no longer continue under the current leadership and had concerns about "what I perceive to be misogynistic undertones in the treatment I have received".

Is anyone surprised?

WELCH: Mr. Yoho is also the husband of your former spokesperson, Tricia McLaughlin?

NOEM: Yes

WELCH: So your former assistant and her husband are the ones that got the DHS no bid contract for $143m. Any dispute about that?

NOEM: No.

For now this is just one poll. But if this trend continues the current FPTP voting system makes no sense anymore.

If you add the SNP and Plaid Cymru to the mix we might end up with a completely random result at the next elections. Which will undermine trust in the U.K. democracy even further.

BREAKING: A 4th U.S. service member has been killed in the military operation with Iran.

I want you all to remember that we had a way to stop iran from getting nuclear weapons. It was a nuclear agreement that the international community all agreed was working.

You’d hope she would also learn a lesson about her spreading misinformation. Turns out it can be punished with 2 years in prison in Dubai. Apparently, she has deleted some tweets reporting about panics etc. Turns out UK has β€œfreedom of speech” πŸ™ƒ

I don’t think it changes her mind one bit. Ironically, she’d be the one complaining about messages being sent out in different languages (see the alert message). She still calls herself an expat so considers herself better than an immigrant/migrant.
