My (American) aunt introduced Christmas crackers at our holiday gatherings a decade or so ago. Without fail, my family consistently calls them “poppers”, saying things like, “Is it time to do poppers yet?” and, “I LOVE doing poppers!” And I do my best to hold in my laughter at their sweet innocence.
