They weren't broken when I got them, in case you're wondering that also. They're just fragile and I'm too poor to fix them all.
But I'm happier than I've been for a while that most of them are okay now.

In case you're wondering why I say "functioning", it's because until this year most of them were broken one way or another.
There are three more: a nylon acoustic with a broken string, a '60s Ibanez with a broken pickup selector, and an electric-acoustic that has cracked body and a warped neck.

Many years ago my dad found this guitar being thrown away into the trash by one of his neighbors. So he called it "The Dumpstercaster".
Despite being so small and crummy-looking, it's got a great sound, especially for metal.

This was one of the first, if not the first Christian metal songs I ever heard, and it's still kind of my baseline for the attitude I'm looking for. It's cheesy as heck, but I kinda love it.

So I had always intended to get a different one all along, one that was more smooth and cylindrical, but the lack of money always prevented that from happening.
There's a world of difference the new one's playability. Kinda gratifying to finally have the slide I had wanted all along.

I asked if I could get one there and then, and I'm pretty sure I got one that very day.
The trouble was the bottleneck that was used for that particular one had an angle to it, which meant its contact with the strings was a little wonky. (I wish I had taken a photo before it broke.)

There's a bit of story behind this. Sometime in the 2000s, when I was still learning to play, I spotted a display of bottleneck slides at a music store (McCabe's to be exact) and I knew enough about the history of blues to know that this was very old school, which I thought was very cool.
