Lies of P DLC is complete, loved every second and despite it being a good length I still wanted more because it's so damn awesome.

Some of the best bosses in the whole game, new environments are great, interesting story stuff, cool new equipment (gunblade my beloved ❤️) and a sick ass finale.

Ohhhh that'll probably be why I never noticed it, I always go into a multiplayer lobby.

Always got confused about the option to do online single player, I figured it was just for if you wanted to avoid other people but still be able to access events etc.

Infinite uses with a cooldown is better for me personally because when I have a limited amount, I always hesitate to actually use them 😂

Probably could have made plenty of fights much easier on myself by taking advantage of the abilities more often, so Magnolia sounds perfect for me in that way 😄

I'd probably play it more but also have times where I need to nip away for a second to sort something and its always annoying to sacrifice a life for no reason because of IRL!

For sure, I look forward to replaying it again one day just to see the twists play out a bit differently - but yeah given the choice, would much rather have my memory wiped and get to experience it fresh again 😄

Well that sounds promising at least! I'll definitely try to give BD1 another try sometime, it could have just been one of those that I wasn't in the right frame of mind for and it might fare better on a 2nd attempt.

But if it still doesn't click, I might just skip to BD2 after hearing that! 😄

Ahhh that's unfortunate 😕 I would say, if you do ever feel in the mood to try it again you could always try to play the opposite kind of character to your first attempt and see if that feels any better.

It's surprising how differently a bunch of the scenarios can play out!

Day 25 - Game you wish you could play for the 1st time again

I never played a CRPG or anything DnD related until Baldurs Gate 3, but it became one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

The way my 1st playthrough went was so damn epic, can't wait to play it again sometime.

This one's also a temp drop for me, for different reasons - but yeah I totally get that, it's not a great fit for pick up and play, you really need to be able to commit to a proper session!

Yeah it's absolutely massive. Easily one of the biggest in the game, which is a little strange with it being the first haha.

The other dungeons are still neat but not quite as much of a marathon as that one is!

Ohhh nice! Automata's incredible, if you enjoyed Replicant you're definitely in for a treat!

And lots of feels 🥲

Yeah, I think what got me was that normal battles were so much of a breeze that they became boring, but then the bosses felt insanely tanky if you hadn't grinded enough.

Might give it another try someday, I can see the appeal of it.

Funny enough I've owned BD2 before I picked BD1 up, waiting for a chance to play it. But when BD1 was announced for Switch 2, figured I'd start at the beginning instead.

Now I'm not so sure whether I'll touch BD2 😂

The logo for Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is seen at the top ✅️ The story is filled with mystery and tragedy. It is mainly told through journals/notes that are scattered, and through the memories of purified spirits. This game is a very emotional but wonderful experience. ✅️ The art/animation has dark fantasy aesthetics with anime influences. The environments and backgrounds are highly detailed. ✅️ The music is hauntingly beautiful; one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a Metroidvania. The song “North” is my favorite. ✅️ There's a balance of platforming and combat that keeps the game interesting without being dull. ✅️ There's only one difficulty, but it does a fantastic job maintaining a steady challenge of enemies/bosses. ✅️ Lily cannot fight on her own, but purified spirits are equipped to aid her on her perilous journey with a variety of weapons and abilities. ✅️ Relics boost Lily and her purified spirits, which include faster or stronger healing, reducing damage received, maximum HP increased, and more. ✅️ Collectibles are fun to find and can be hidden well. ✅️ The map shows areas that are complete, or if they are still unfinished. An extremely handy feature. ✅️ There's no penalty upon death, which I am thankful for. Starting back at the last Respite (save point) with collectibles/experience retained is a huge plus. ✅️ Multiple endings reveal different outcomes for Lily, and the game's true ending is very satisfying indeed.

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights is an unforgettable Metroidvania indie, and now one of my favorite games of all time. I may be late playing this, but it's because of a wonderful recommendation from a couple of friends that I truly understand the beauty of this game.

Definitely worth checking out the second game if you enjoyed AW1! The vibe leans a lot more towards the horror elements but it's a fantastic improvement.

Day 24 - Game you wanted to love but couldnt

I love a turn based RPG with a job system, but Bravely Default just wasn't it for me. Wasn't a fan of any of the characters, or the extreme grind.

Yesssss you will fall in love with it!! It's the perfect little indie machine, there are so many that don't get released on console and I'm sure you'll have a great time being able to access those now too 😄

Day 23 - Game with the prettiest art direction

Alan Wake 2 has such a vibe and atmosphere that comes in large part thanks to the visuals and art direction.

I love how well they were able to implement the live action elements without them feeling disconnected from the overall aesthetic.

I see what you did there, I respect it 😉
