The first and last lines of Joni Ernst’s legacy as a human on earth will be that she was instrumental in the confirmation of the Sec of Defense most hostile to women serving in military, and she knew that when she voted for him.

Precisely. As a world β€œleader” the U.S. is done for decades.

In a White House meeting with civil rights leaders in early 2021, President Biden recounted his first trip to Europe. Biden he announced to them, β€œAmerica’s back!” The European leaders said β€œyeah, but for how long?”

They were skeptical.

In the first eight months of Trump’s second term, the Justice Department filed only nine major pollution cases for the EPA.

The shift in enforcement shows the extent to which the Trump administration has reoriented the agency toward promoting economic growth. https://wapo.st/4os3LNF

This is a lie. All 31 Moms for Liberty candidates in contested races lost their 2025 elections. The only "wins" were in uncontested races. Apparently, being hypocritical, book-banning scolds isn't so popular.

I've seen several reports (sadly, the only source I can remember is Stephen Colbert's last night...) that he's OK. I haven't seen what happened to him (or to RFKJr., whose staff said he ran for help...).

There is so much damage done to our agencies with these losses. The amount of institutional knowledge and expertise that we have hemorrhaged this year is nigh incalculable. I am not sure how we will recover from this. Or if we even can. And for those of us left, the stress is intense. Every day. 🀬🀬🀬

NASA has lost thousands of workers. Here’s what that means for science. Staffers told The Post about months of turmoil and sweeping changes that, if fully implemented, could transform NASA and American science beyond the Trump years.

After 13 years as the top federal workplace, NASA is facing an employee exodus and months of turmoil after deep budget cuts proposed by the Trump administration.

If fully implemented, the changes could reshape U.S. science for years.

NEW: Billions of pounds of food are imported to the U.S. each year.

The FDA inspects foreign producers to ensure what we're eating is safe from pathogens and dangerous manufacturing practices.

But now, after Trump's drastic staff cuts, these inspections have plummeted to a historic low.

WOAH. Texas GOP Executive Director Jen Hall and another top party official just resigned. In her letter to party Chair Abraham George, Hall said she "cannot in good conscience continue to work this way" but doesn't elaborate. Hall and George are both longtime Tim Dunn allies. This is...interesting.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.
