Daylight Saving time is a dumb name. I like Kevin's idea of Daylight Shifting Time. A good many of us don't think sunlight in the morning is nearly as "precious" as sunlight in the evening after work. "Saving" & "Losing" are both biased terms.

Standard work hours are the issue here, and I doubt local communities would shift that. The big difference between standard and daylight savings time is whether we get daylight while we're getting ready in the morning or daylight after work, respectively. After work is far more valuable to me.

Can we curse Standard Time, though? Yes, it's hard to wake up in the dark, but no daylight after work is the greater evil IMO.

Every single time someone says, "Because of the shutdown, SNAP won't be distributed..." they need to be corrected. "Because of REPUBLICANS, SNAP won't be distributed."

Republicans are choosing not to pay out SNAP benefits in November. There is money. They are making a choice to weaponize hunger & cause people to suffer. It's inherently political.

I wonder if he knows that they did placebo controlled trials for the COVID vaccines during Trump's 1st term. MAGA says they want placebo controlled double-blind studies, but they still don't believe the results when they're done if it doesn't suit their agenda.

"King" is shorthand for an authoritarian ruler who has sole control of the government & without checks & balances, who uses his power for vengance against his percieved enemies, who tries to quash the speech of anyone who speaks against him. Trump wants to be king. And y'all are complicit.

Trump was never really hiding this. From the start Trump was conflating "undocumented" with "criminal" & criminal with "dangerous.' Some people weren't paying attention/preferred not to hear & decided he meant people who are actually dangerous, not their nice neighbor.

We are so fucked. I mean, we already were, but now even more so.
