Opinion: The clock runs out on Alberta’s plan to amend the Constitution Jason Kenney’s government held a referendum on removing the equalization principle from the Constitution Act, but the three-year window to do so has ended

The latest from @galapalavicini.bsky.social and me:

"As we prepare to transition to a new period of Alberta-Ottawa relations, we can all hope for the return of functional federalism and the demise of costly stunts like the equalization referendum."

Really excited for today's talk by Dr Glennon. Aside from some electoral reform efforts in BC and some ultimately rejected proposals during the Charlottetown Accord period, I'm not aware of Canada doing much in the way of real, citizen-led deliberation vis-a-vis constitutional issues.

I'll be saying words at this too, but rest assured that there are plenty of more interesting people involved!
