In the meantime, while I work out what's next, I still have a couple of boxes of books left to sell, that I'd love to find their way to readers.
26.02.2026 10:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was delighted to finally get the news last week that I have now been given back the rights to my work, which gives me the freedom to find a new home for Neurodiversity in the Workplace, because if one thing is clear, ND folk never give up.
26.02.2026 10:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This review is a reminder of why I wrote the book, even if navigating what a publisher in liquidation would mean for my work, was confusing and stressful at times.
26.02.2026 10:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you so much to everyone who has brought my book, "Neurodiversity in the Workplace" this week. I've been reading through some of my 5 Star reviews, and I'm incredibly touched by the impact my words had on people, and all of the lovely support and encouragement.
26.02.2026 10:48 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At the end of last year I started writing poetry to help with processing feelings around being made redundant for the second time, and recognising that many systems just aren't built or designed to include my brain. But there's also places where I can belong too, and that's important to hold onto.

βRedundant again" - a poem for anyone (especially neurodivergent folk) going through redundancy.

In my latest Substack, I've written about why laying down the foundations for inclusion in schools, education and youth work matters now more than ever β¬οΈ

Being inclusive is a better direction for everyone. Getting rid of the Equality Act would not be beneficial for any of us.

What equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging is not:
βGiving people jobs who donβt have the skills or qualifications to do them.
β Giving those in marginalised communities an advantage over others not part of those communities.
β Discrimination against white people.
β
An equitable access to opportunities and career progression.
β
Enabling businesses and organisations to expand their workforce to include more highly skilled and qualified talent.
β
Making people feel welcome and included in more spaces.
For those still unclear, equity, diversity and inclusion means:
β
Levelling the playing field by improving ways people can access services, participate and apply for jobs.
β
Creating workplaces, schools and community spaces where everyone can have their voices heard, be listened to and valued.
As a youth worker, I'm also concerned about the impact this dialogue is having on children and young people, who are growing up in an increasingly uncertain and hostile world.

The Equality Act means accessibility, and without it many workplaces, schools and community spaces would not be accessible.
As someone who has written extensively about systemic inclusion, and re-designing systems based on universal, inclusive design, this thinking terrifies me.
Reform announced plans to scrap the Equality Act if they get into power, and in doing so un-doing 100 years of work to ensure there are protections so women are paid a fair wage, that you can't sack someone when they become pregnant and enable disabled people to request reasonable adjustments.
21.02.2026 12:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Over the last few years, we have seen constant attacks on and misinformation about inclusion. What it is or isn't. And arguments against EDI policies and legislation, which really are there to protect everyone from unlawful treatment, harassment and discrimination.

From one neurodivergent brain to another, this is your permission to rest, do nice things for yourself, find moments of joy and learn what it means to be you again.

I've written this blog post for every neurodivergent person currently off sick too, struggling to navigate inaccessible systems, feeling exhausted, experiencing burnout or going through redundancy.
08.01.2026 17:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I will soon be made redundant for the second time in under two years, a situation I didn't think I'd be in quite so soon. Whilst I have a lot of uncertainty ahead, what I do know, is that no one can ever take my writing away from me.
08.01.2026 17:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm currently on sick leave for 'stress at workβ and whilst this is an difficult time to navigate, I wanted to write about what it means to rest and share reflections on why it's important give yourself time to be you, especially for neurodivergent folk healing from years of workplace trauma.
08.01.2026 17:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Happy new year! It's January, and a prime time for reflections and planning, or thinking about making plans. I've done my own version of both, but for slightly different reasons to previous years.

I am determined to create a dialogue and facilitate conversations to empower, educate and support change that centres equity and inclusion in the workplace, education and across communities.
And I'll do it one word, or hyperfocus session at a time.

So I've written about it on my shiny new Substack, and shared why I made a promise to stop justifying myself to others, especially when directly linked to my neurodivergence.

October is ADHD awareness month, and I've not quite settled on how the messaging surrounding it sits with me. I've always felt uncomfortable about awareness days with a hashtag, as how many 'awareness conversations' lead to practical action and change?

I'm now on Substack!
I'm just working it out but another thing to channel my hyperfocus and eat all of my time! Hurray!

The solution? We need to change the narrative so that we all understand inclusion. Listen to those with lived experiences. And implement universal design into policies, practices, systems and services. So ND folk have a place at the table.
