this overlaps w like trans issues in a specific way for me too like the idea that people are constantly lying to you about being oppressed or needing help, everyone is suspicious and you are the hero who will expose the lying villain hiding their "true identity." American TV brain poisoning

americans are SO obsessed with the idea that people are constantly at risk for lying to you about being disabled or something. like they think we live in like a soap opera or something where people are just generally always lying and scheming for social clout like most people r actually normal

like there needs to be a class in school where they just teach you shit like "there are ambulatory wheel chair users" "most people are not constantly trying to lie about having a disability" "you are not a doctor and probably haven't heard of every disability ever"

like the thought of being in a wheel chair for mobility issues and a grown ass adult who has lived 45+ years without having EVER heard of an ambulatory wheel chair user ever in their life, and actually like, feeling like the wheel chair user is lying. is like. making me ballistic

the fact that there r grown adults who don't know you can be in a wheel chair for reasons other than paralysis and that if someone in a wheel chair like, gets up, that doesn't mean they're "faking being paralyzed" or something makes me SO SO crazy like this 1 issue is gonna push me off the deep end
