to answer my own q, i thought roleplaying drinking a potion by just drinking a Hyper Potion out of my inventory was lacking in sauce, so instead i roleplay that he drinks Highly Concentrated potions out of cans so that I can spend upwards of 50k per joke on cans of DAM every time want to do this:

a fire warms the scattered ruins of a long-abandoned home. jun is crouched over a young man ... a spitting image of himself, face still scarred but eye without patch. his hair is short, the same color but less faded; there's no grey staining it but his features look older now than they did then. a moment frozen in time. he is either lifting his younger self's head, as if to carry him forward — or, he is cradling a dying boy's head. offering him a final comfort, an attempt to manipulate him — gaslight him into believing that he is leaving a world of kindness behind before laying him to rest eternal, on this floor. to rot in this uniform.
