Happy first day of early voting, #a2council! From now through Sunday, you can vote at any early voting location: The Malletts Creek, Westgate, & Traverwood libraries, & City Hall. If you’re not registered to vote, you can register at City Hall & then vote immediately, including on Election Day.

To a degree, but I can show you my email dated 3/7/25 (Well before PTP AI nonsense) to Dharma and Jen predicting every problem they would face into politically in LoBuPa around the students versus missing middle housing, while also calling out the most egregious bad faith arguments they’d get. 🤷‍♀️

Me, a well-known parent in the Burns Park Elementary community trying to politely and kindly explain to parent peers and neighbors why the CLUP isn’t that bad since March. (Actual #a2council members and planning commissioners must be beyond exhausted)

Read a lot of articles and summaries but finally sitting down and watching the last #a2council Planning Commission meeting. Very much appreciate they are being more thoughtful than #a2schoolboard ever was or even currently is about public comment procedure.

This almost makes up for their endorsement of Susan Baskett for AAPS school board.

I’d argue it’s not about winning the lawsuit; this was done on purpose in the 11th hour bc they know they’re losing.

Hope it backfires and people see it for what it is: a craven abuse of the legal system and courts to grab headlines, sow doubt, and perpetuate the rampant misinformation.

Was just driving around OWS code hunting to entertain the kids when it was raining. Lots of SG codes but lots of NO on A&B signs too. Zero overlap in properties! (Seems like a real generational divide.)

And I don’t like dredging up past bad behavior of the Library Green Conservancy and their allies/ would much prefer to just talk about AADL’s vision for a new better library space, but these lies from the NO side keep spreading like wildfire!

They definitely don’t know! Nextdoor and neighborhood listservs were a mistake. Just got told every talking point of the No on A&B crowd, including that the mayor BLOCKED funding for the people’s park and the new library would be smaller by people I have to see at regularly at kid’s school stuff.

I refer to them “our street is the most beautiful street in Ann Arbor” people, thanks to some public commentary.

But the organizers were excited about working with the AADL back in 2018-2019, as shown in this slide from their Council of the Commons with Blockchain deck. Nevermind that collaborators spelled library wrong when they opposed the AADL bond or that they got the name of the institution wrong here.

Still in public comments since I chose to not raise my blood pressure by swimming with my kids over being at this meeting.

Getting hurtburn before bed listening to outrageous commentary is better. 😩

I’m SO frustrated by the STR misunderstanding, especially bc I was advocating for limits on STRs when they passed in 2020 and took heat for it.

Maybe it was a mistake to even allow the few already established full time STRs to remain bc now people don’t understand there are limits. #a2council

Respectfully, having a family history in Ann Arbor that spans 150 years doesn’t make your voice more valuable than anyone else’s. The arrogance and privilege in that mindset is offensive. #A2Council
