Like is there really enrollment pressure in these northeast area schools to justify this purchase with sinking funds while an actually run down building with 450+ kids is having its renovations delayed? Maybe, but bond and sinking funds decisions are very opaque!

Delaying Burns Park Elementary (one of the largest and popular for enrollment elementary schools) modernization any more is a nightmare. This has been promised since before the bond and I would say a big reason the bond even passed given how engaged that neighborhood is.

Explain the aversion to simply having a 2-hour delay for schools now? Schools did this all the time when I growing up, never utilized now.
(I don’t blame #a2schools for this morning, the timing of when all the sidewalks and intersections iced over was terrible for decision making.)

Watching the #a2schoolboard meeting for the first time in a while. Much discussion from AAEA and AAEA-P about low pay, stagnant wages. District ability to pay them more seems questionable.

It really irritates me that this predominantly rich and white neighborhood I live in is invoking police harm as a reason we should put up with laziness!
The city gives away salt and sand! Many neighbors have offered to help anyone elderly! It’s just being lazy at this point!
