A thing about class: In solidarity it holds promise for the vast 99% across identities to see through selective use of "terrorist."
I think we'll find the label don't stick this time.
Oligarchy may be clever, but it don't have many tricks, and they're all very old.
This one has run out of tricks.

Selective application of the term "terrorist" has long been leveraged by the American empire to manipulate human impulses such as patriotism & fear.
That manipulation has often been racist & colonialist at its core, enabling genocides & land theft to this day.

I Wanted a Mother. I Got Dolls Instead.
In her new book Bone of the Bone, Sarah Smarsh opens up on growing up with an unavailable motherβand growing into someone different,
βReal love requires true attentionβseeing another being for what they are, rather than casting upon them projections of our own pain.β
I am estranged from my mother & this sentence from @sarahsmarsh.bsky.social just perfectly articulated why all my interactions with my mom feel quietly devastating.

The Uprising of Women in Red States Is Just Beginning
From the teachersβ strikes in West Virginia to Oklahoma and beyond, working-class women have always known what it takes to fight back.
Let's consider "...the many groups rendered invisible by political stereotypes βliberal working-class men, conservative people of color, progressive Christians, and just about any instance of complexity within demographics viewed as monoliths..."

Core copyright violation claim moves ahead in The Interceptβs lawsuit against OpenAI
The ruling comes after a judge dismissed similar claims filed by Raw Story and AlterNet earlier this month.
Great coverage by @niemanlab.org and @andrewdeck.bsky.social of our Digital Millennium Copyright Act claims against OpenAI. For digital publishers unhappy with the use of their content to create AI bots that compete with news business, this is the path forward.

I've long written about intersections of the political & the intimate.
Those of you who already survived what might've killed you--abuse or chronic pain or or or--by finding your unshakeable core: You're stronger than this burgeoning regime, as weak as its egos are large.
It's your time to lead.

As a product of white working class people in a "red" state, her work resonates with me.
Unsurprisingly, most news media seem to misunderstand the nuanced complexity of people considered the working poor, often implying that we would all feel comfortable at a Trump rally. 2/

Just saw a rather anachronistic meme sarcastically saying fauci spent his whole career studying vaccines just to trick "rednecks," and I cannot emphasize enough how the classism and anti-ruralism of that kind of statement are a big factor in how we got here.

On the native prairies of North America, green is the problem
The opposite of the "nothing" Europeans thought they saw, the prairie is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Restoring it requires eradicating the "green glacier" that's displaced it: cedar trees. @sarahsmarsh.bsky.social in @orionmagazine.bsky.social:

Just listened to @sarahsmarsh.bsky.social and @thedailyshow.com #JonStewart. They discussed how #MiddleClass doesn't necessarily resonate with #WorkingClass. I think that the use of #UneducatedVoter terminology by media & campaigns was enormously alienating & damaging for the Dem cause.
