After 9 yeareals, it's finally my turn to post the "a thousand cereals" clip, seeing as how I'm the idiot who made it.

Tales of Graces f is my personal favorite game because of the combat, and even now on my third playthrough I'm learning more about it and getting better at it because it's engaging, and a lot of the game's secondary (more easily ignorable) mechanics are implemented well and I want to get into them.

I think the real kicker to stellar game design is a low skill floor and high ceiling, where you can play through the core of the game very easily with only a surface level understanding, but there's a lot of depth that you can get into and keep getting more out of the game.

I think the most important thing for a game to be is engaging. It sounds obvious, yeah, but above all else, a really good game should make me want to play it, and get good at it.

I think this is why Pokemon is so successful, it very clearly imparts its mechanics and makes them fun to work with.
