if an attorney would take our case, we'd pursue it, but suing agents of the Federal Government working under the direct orders of POTUS doesn't seem like a winning wager.

just for context, she was awarded the grant to support her book (under contract with Cambridge UP) so she quit her job.

And now ... not making any money. Yeah.

To be fair to the AI bros, we’ve only known about the ELIZA effect since *checks notes* … 1966.

Eliot gets claimed by both surveys.

I have a student in Contemp American working on Rushdie because he’s naturalized. Borders are dumb.

Rod Serling is probably the coolest guy of the 20th century. Looked cool, sounded cool, fought Nazis, hated John Wayne, wrote the screenplay for Planet of the Apes. Honestly dunks all the hell over any male influencer guy.

Eisenhower was the last decent Republican, and even he gave us Nixon.

Ike actually liked America and Americans, unlike Nixon, Ford, Reagan, the Bushes, and of course Trump who hates Americans.

They really, really enjoy hurting people and seeing people they don't like hurt.

Sadists, the lot of them.

Sent Britt and PotatoTown emails about Shaheen breaking the Marine's arm.

Given how much they crow about loving our vets, I'm sure they'll be right on it.

One thing that makes me think my mother's father may also have been on the spectrum is that he apparently hated clothes too and would change into a sweatshirt as soon as he got home from the factory and always wore them inside out because that was the softer side.

Preach, Grandpa Jack. Preach.

I'm not a mystery reader now by any means, but I wish this one was online in good shape. Be fun to go back to it.

yeah--I don't think I knew who Hitch was other than a vague sense that 'Psycho' was a terrifying movie I couldn't watch.

I imagine it had something to do with the Hitchcock Estate and royalties. I think they retconned the whole series to cut him out.

I think they were pretty deep into the series when he died. But he does show up in a lot of them to introduce the case.
