no video tutorial prepared me for shit UI/UX on a printer. none of this shit was designed for absolute beginners, and I am an absolute beginner. learning through brute force and disastrous mistakes is the way to go.

doing this actually makes me feel like I'm stupid. like I actually feel like I've had a stroke and that I'm no longer capable of reading and following instructions because what it tells me and what I see are completely different things. like trying to read in a dream.

I'm losing my mind. did I get this printer during some weird interim of an update in how they do things? the manual tells me to select a file to test print, and the file isn't fucking there? there's so many things that don't add up. instructions say one thing, the actual options don't match or exist

I think I was able to figure out chitubox. it's very obtuse, has seemingly a few ways to do something but only one correct way. just gotta keep trying until you find the one that works. I was mostly trying to get resin profiles that I downloaded through it to apply to the project.

yeah prusaslicer got recommended. this is baby's first print though, and that's advanced stuff to try later I think. just trying to figure out the basics

everything in this software is miserable to do. just trying to load a resin profile has like 4 ways to do it and none of them work.

made a terrible mistake on a couple deadlines and now I find myself w a 1k debt, so I'll be taking more commissions

wow the Elegoo manual recommends Chitubox Basic. okay, sure. I'll just do that then.

so far Chitubox is a really bad user experience. I have a serial number for a free pro account, but every option I try they just want my money. I cannot find where to type it in to activate. the instructions on their site don't add up with ANY options the software has. is it free or not?

got this card to with the Elegoo 3d printer for a free Chitubox pro account, and all of the instructions are either out of date or just straight up wrong. everything described on their site didn't happen. might just not bother and stick with the basic. or try different slicing software.
