Eh, then you wouldn't have Kuririn's character arc of learning to trust Goku. I think it's better where it is, the climax just needs to be retooled a bit.

Tbh if you shifted things around to account for Goku not having a tail, I think it would've made for a great filler arc for the actual TV series.
