My husband firmly believes that her Karen-ness has only increased with social recognition of the general dynamic.

I wonder. I really do. Do the Karens see this label as acceptance of their behaviour, or do they ever stop and think about what anyone else thinks?

She pays extra for a second parking spot so she doesn’t have to learn how to park her new SUV properly. She renders the exterior stair railing useless from November to January because she Absolutely Must Have Lights and Garlands. (I need the railing to get down the stairs).

I could go on, but why?

Every time I hear someone refer to an annoying middle class white woman as a Karen, I have to laugh.

This is my neighbour’s name. She has been known to call 911 on the kids playing in the green belt behind us..

Different communities may have their own codes for this. “Be careful around Name” is one I grew up with. It was a warning dressed in gossip. And sometimes the gossip was “He creeps me out.” My school had a grapevine specifically to flag the creeps. I’m aware that wasn’t or isn’t universal, though.

Reading a book with a very minor character, a black cat named Sydney-You-Asshole.

Sydney is really growing on me as comedic relief.

But his apparently full name makes me giggle every time he brings the feline mayhem.

I saw a women’s tartan waistcoat that I keep thinking I should get in this sett. It seems like it would be pretty. Certainly a conversation starter anywhere Scots are gathering. 😉
