The precautionary principle advises officials not to wait until every question is answered to act. We know more than enough. No one should have to breathe toxic gases and pathogens while they sleep. No child should have to go to school & breathe such harmful pollutants in air all day long.

(2/24) When ~240M gallons of sewage leaked into the Potomac, it was declared an emergency within days. The NYT called it the worst in U.S. history. WRONG. The Tijuana River continuously releases that much every few days β€” for years. No emergency. No outcry. Environmental injustice, plain and simple.

Long COVID isn’t rare.

According to the WHO, about 15 in 100 people still have symptoms 12 months after COVID-19 infection.

Prevent infection. Prevent reinfection. Protect your health.

Today in Alberta - March 2: The province's respiratory virus dashboard reports that 250 Albertans have died from influenza so far this flu season. This represents the most deaths since 2009, when the data first became publicly available.

5/ Air pollution is the 2nd leading cause of death worldwide. Inhalation is your #1 exposure pathway. We spend 90% of our time indoors. Why aren't we filtering our air?

03.03.2026 20:55 β€” πŸ‘ 83    πŸ” 16    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

4/ We filter our water and only drink 2L a day. We inhale 11,000L of air every day. Unfiltered. Loaded with things that make us sick.

1/ If I hear one more public official call indoor air filters a "band-aid," I'm going to explode! Filtering indoor air should be as standard as filtering water. Full stop. 🧡

Important story here. The UCP's conscious decision to ignore advice and to not promote vaccines is, as forewarned, producing record flu death rates.

WELL NOW, would you look at that?

A massive, 26-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 2.4 MILLION people in Sweden found found NO EVIDENCE to support a causal link between acetaminophen (the API in Tylenol) use during pregnancy and increased risk of autism, ADHD, OR intellectual disability in children.

An independent Alberta would need to fund:
β€’ National defence
β€’ Border services
β€’ Foreign affairs & trade
β€’ Immigration
β€’ Higher level courts
β€’ Aviation regulation
β€’ Debt servicing
β€’ Central banking, etc.

This stuff is also conveniently left out of the "-$23B" fiscal balance calculation.

01.03.2026 01:44 β€” πŸ‘ 208    πŸ” 45    πŸ’¬ 6    πŸ“Œ 4

First: the $23B figure isn’t a cheque Alberta writes to the feds.

It’s a net fiscal balance: the difference between:
β€’ Federal taxes paid by Albertans
β€’ Direct federal spending in Alberta

I used to calculate this number for the government. Let me tell you: it masks more than it illuminates.

01.03.2026 01:44 β€” πŸ‘ 98    πŸ” 18    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Albertans pay more federal tax largely because average incomes are higher (especially in oil booms).

That’s progressive taxation at work.

High-income individuals and businesses everywhere are net contributors, including within Alberta itself.

Wherein Smith claims that "newcomers" are costing the province $9 Billion in social programs.

In order for that to be true, every single newcomer would have to be accessing social programs that many don't even have access to.

These are evil misrepresentations.

Since measles is coming back, here's a question:

What is the "half-life" of airborne decay of measles?

Answer: We have no idea. People think it's long (1 to 2 hours).

Why don't we know? Funders largely felt there wasn't a need to measure it since it was managed with vaccines.

COVID-19 vaccination status during pregnancy and preeclampsia risk: the pandemic-era cohort of the INTERCOVID consortium COVID-19 vaccination with a booster reduces the odds of PE by 30% approaching 60% reduction among women with pre-existing morbidities.

Remember when RFK Jr. unilaterally decided that COVID19 vaccines should no longer be recommended during pregnancy?

Well, COVID19 increases the risk of preeclampsia.

And it turns out that getting boosted, either before or during pregnancy, significantly reduces the risk of preeclampsia.
