The precautionary principle advises officials not to wait until every question is answered to act. We know more than enough. No one should have to breathe toxic gases and pathogens while they sleep. No child should have to go to school & breathe such harmful pollutants in air all day long.
(2/24) When ~240M gallons of sewage leaked into the Potomac, it was declared an emergency within days. The NYT called it the worst in U.S. history. WRONG. The Tijuana River continuously releases that much every few days — for years. No emergency. No outcry. Environmental injustice, plain and simple.

A massive, 26-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 2.4 MILLION people in Sweden found found NO EVIDENCE to support a causal link between acetaminophen (the API in Tylenol) use during pregnancy and increased risk of autism, ADHD, OR intellectual disability in children.
An independent Alberta would need to fund:
• National defence
• Border services
• Foreign affairs & trade
• Immigration
• Higher level courts
• Aviation regulation
• Debt servicing
• Central banking, etc.
This stuff is also conveniently left out of the "-$23B" fiscal balance calculation.
First: the $23B figure isn’t a cheque Alberta writes to the feds.
It’s a net fiscal balance: the difference between:
• Federal taxes paid by Albertans
• Direct federal spending in Alberta
I used to calculate this number for the government. Let me tell you: it masks more than it illuminates.
Albertans pay more federal tax largely because average incomes are higher (especially in oil booms).
That’s progressive taxation at work.
High-income individuals and businesses everywhere are net contributors, including within Alberta itself.

What is the "half-life" of airborne decay of measles?
Answer: We have no idea. People think it's long (1 to 2 hours).
Why don't we know? Funders largely felt there wasn't a need to measure it since it was managed with vaccines.
