We played rm urchin in scrim last night rolling random NA league maps it was horrible in the funniest way possible 10/10

your phrasing suggests otherwise, better way to put it would be just playing all or playing bad map rotations to learn how to play them. Kinda antithetical to go "you're going to gain/lose more points doing this!" then post it in the hashtag when the original x rank topic was about getting better

i still advocate for playing bad rotations especially if you want to learn the maps (double especially to have unhinged counterpicks) but the point is indeed to play in challenging situations and get good practice not to "point farm" or whatever

that's like, kind of the point though is it not? playing against/with good players in challenging lobbies. are you not playing to improve?

Watching an old FLC vod analyzing Chocopero's X rank gameplay (s2) and one thing that stuck out to me was that (paraphrased) "If you're the best person in the lobby, prioritize staying alive; you can't influence the game when you're dead"

really wish more people in X would follow this philosophy

If you're top 2k (not 2k xp, but top 2k leaderboard wise) you match with other people in top 2k, so you play against the stronger players that way, I've seen my friends match into jp top players
And even then if you end up playing against top western players instead you're still in good shape
