This is what a lot of people don't understand about saving someone from death. The person you saved is not always the same as the person who needed saving. They may come back with severe deficits and, not only does that person's life change, but the lives of everyone around them as well.

I just got back from a trip to Canada. A lady saw my Oregon license plate as I was waiting for a ferry and stopped to talk to me and make sure I felt welcomed in Canada. At no point did anyone make me feel unwelcomed.
