In almost 30 years of living in and around Death Valley I have never seen the calthaleaf phacelia this dense and abundant, coating the barren rock hills with purple. They are having a banner year in this hyperarid part of the Mojave Desert

If you think about it, art is actually a quite interdisciplinary field. An artist needs knowledge about anatomy, locomotion, biology, technology, surface textures, materials, chemistry (for crafting/sculpting materials), perspective, colours, lighting, shading and a lot of other stuff.

I like programming until I actually have to program something myself.

Commission from a couple years ago by @hibbary.bsky.social. It meant a lot to me at the time, and I still break it out periodically and just kinda get lost in the details.

Tina (Winter coat) is the mascot for the olympics and her brother Milo (Summer coat) is the mascot for the paralympics. He uses his tail like a leg. That way he can do all the sports his sister does.

Honestly, if I had the chance (and money) I would move out there again. And I‘ve only lived here for one month. How should I survive another 1.5-2 years in that apartment until I graduate 😭☹️

She wrote a paper in microsoft word and printed it and placed it in the laundry room where she wrote that cat owners (we are the only cat owners…) must clean the cat hair from the laundry machine and the dryer. We always clean it!!! But she still acts like we don’t. I fucking hate this bitch!!

I hate one of my new neighbors! They‘re even worse than the one in my old home. There is this one retired bitch who thinks she owns the whole building and can make the rules. She hates our cats (and probably animals in general) and now takes every chance she gets to lecture us about some bullshit.

We live in the new apartment for over a month now and I already hate one of my neighbors…

Update on Nala: I found her! She was in fact at our old home! Funny, because I searched there four times and I didn‘t find her until the fifth search! I even called vets and the road maintenance depot (for the worst case scenario. She thankfully wasn‘t there!).

You can‘t imagine how relieved I am!

Thank you! I do too! I haven‘t found her yet. But I printed flyers and placed them within the area I live and at the bus station (so for the people who get off the bus will see it). I will also place some at the old place, just in case she returns there.

As tomorrow is Monday and people go to work, grocery shopping etc. I hope that Nala leaves her hiding spot/can leave the place she was accidentally locked up in.
I also made an online „cat missing“ flyer with my contact details. Nala also wears a collar with my contact data and she is microchiped.

Nala likes to sleep on my hoodies, so I got one that I‘ve worn last week so that it smells like me. I also rolled it on her pillow that it hopefully smells like her too and placed it outside the cat door. I hope the odor is strong enough for a cat to notice.

I start to think that she might have been accidentally locked up in a garage, bicycle storage room or the house-construction side nearby. As it was weekend and it‘s a calm neighborhood, people didn‘t use the cars or bicycles, and the construction workers don‘t work on weekends.

I went to check on the old place several times, but she never was there when I checked. I also called her name in the whole area where our new home is. I did this several times at different daytimes. Nala is very reliable and responds to my calls and usually comes running to me. But she didn‘t came.

So we moved in the new apartment two weeks ago. We kept the cats indoors for two weeks so they realize that this is their new home. Nala went outside on Friday evening and hasn‘t returned since. It was her first time going outside at the new place and she hasn‘t returned yet ☹️ I‘m really worried

My photo shows a small horse statuette in a museum display case. The horse, viewed in profile, was masterfully carved from mammoth ivory around 15,000 years ago. The sculptor has depicted many realistic details such as the eyes, nostrils, and ears flattened against the head. The coat is represented by finely incised lines and dots. The mane is sculpted in relief, with incised lines on both sides. The four legs and tail are incomplete. The surface of the ivory has a shiny brown patina. Dimensions: Length 7.3 cm x Height 3.5 cm. The statuette is known as ‘The Little Horse of Lourdes’. It was discovered in 1886 in a rock fissure in the Espélugues cave, Lourdes, Haute-Pyrénées, France. Part of the collections at the Musée d'Archéologie Nationale, Domaine national de Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

Check out this animation about the recently found Homotherium cub (permafrost mummy). The drawing and animation style is a bit repetitive and stiff, but it‘s refreshing to see people still value and practice art and hand drawn animation.
