We still have our 2006 Toyota Tundra that was a returned lease vehicle. Engine blew (@>200,000 in 2024) and hubby replaced with a Jasper engine and it runs like new. $12k was much better option than 75k for a new one. And it’s probably a better vehicle in many ways than a new one.

This is seriously a good idea. We’ve bought several fleet vehicles over the years. And we drove them until the wheels came off.

Two Tombac buttons fresh up from the foreshore this morning, spotted in a nice metal patch that also yielded pins, an 18thC gents cufflink and a pewter blow-hole button. Tombacs were fashionable from approx 1700-1800; flat, cast in copper alloy with a shank on the back. Worn on coats & breeches.

When I lived in that media market, WGN was my preferred channel. Ray Cortopassi, one of those layed off, used to work here in Indpls. So Nextstar looking to buy Tenga….we will have no trusted media in Indy. That’s sobering.

231 is already an expressway from Rockport @ the river to Dale. It’s only a 30 min drive from Dale to I69. All this money to shave 30 fucking mins. Now — maybe — another bridge is needed, but not this.

They could better justify another bridge down there, maybe. It’s about an hour drive between bridges. 231 is already 4 lane expressway type from the power plant at river to I64. It only takes 30 min from 231 to I69

Also, the talk about tolling the interstates was to pay for this.
