31.08.2025 22:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Did lots of running today on a 100km relay team. Total team distance will only be 92km though since the course was a km short. I did 3 loops for the team and joined my son on his loop plus a 3km jaunt to the North Saskatchewan River for a swim. So refreshing!

Chill run on a hot day with Ruby. I did a lot of water walking and Ruby did a lot of swimming. The cool water did us both good. Hay is ready to be bailed.

I was making excuses to not run especially since it was cold, windy, threatening to rain and I didnโt have a jacket in town with me. Decided if I went with trails I would be buffered by the trees. No regrets!

Anyway lots of bla bla but something for you to consider.

Both were really just program writers and both ignored my experience which is all on Strava as well as spreadsheet. Iโm not really looking for a coach at this time but as an aspiring coach wonderโฆ.

Iโm not sure Iโve ever seen a training plan for this but you could train for a marathon in the six hours. Unless youโre thinking 50 kilometres. Maybe think more in terms of time on feet, forget pace, even walk a ton and get so your comfortable walking/jogging for 4-5 hours in a stretch. Good luck!

I tested my ability to run 2:59 but after coming close to 1:30 at the half I backed off and for the most part cruised for sub 3:15 Iโm clearly not fit enough to run sub 3 and I didnโt want to get to 30km with cooked legs.
