UK TV has been creating trash on this level for at least the last thirty years now. At least.

These kind of ghastly shows come and go so quickly, everyone forgets and is newly aghast when they cycle back into existence a decade or two later.

I've never understood descriptivism. It's like looking at a map of Pangea and saying the UK shouldn't exist.

Use determines meaning. The academic recognises this, catalogues and archives histories, then accurately describe changes.

The trouble is and will always be that scum will always look at the horror and go "Yeah, that's great". Kind of like you can't make an anti-war film if it includes depictions of war. Soldiers will always find representations of soldiers inspirational
