Yeeeeah, people are proud of their ideas and have put in a lot of work, and that's GOOD.

...but it can get to the point where it's like ... going to an auto repair shop and eyeing the car lift and the tools and the office, and then accusing the mechanic of wanting to steal your car.

Unfortunately accurate.

(Especially as some new authors think their first book will make them great and powerful, but in reality they're mostly invisible.)

Editor secret: Enthusiasm for publishing is great, but there's a point where an author's expectations can turn into a red flag.

My potential not-so-hot take on ITCH bundles is that fantasy is a fairly large blanket term, and bundles might be more attractive if they consisted of smaller numbers of books that honed in on more specific subgenres.
