went to my local last night after a while of not being able to go, was playing only elphelt and got 9th place (out of 12) so next time i'll do good

after getting my hands on the new patch i am beyond happy with the jacko changes she feels the same but with just more freedom in her kit because of servant shoot dash cancels

s4 is looking like it might be the best season for strive as long as they keep making tweaks in the direction they are going, as the powercreep s3 introduced seems to be going down and some characters seemingly being a whole new character after the patch. exciting stuff all around!! :)

By re-evaluating the cores of every character and tweaking them to be more in line with that core instead of being centered around the strength of top tiers, it makes everyone feel more fresh and worth revisiting old characters.

Overall, i think season 3 was a really fun period of time for strive! I loved competing (and i do understand why others didnt) and i dont plan on stopping that. The season 4 patch seems amazing (apart from a couple mishandled characters) and i think the game is headed in the right direction

-- while johnny and elphelt were undertuned. the s4 patch seems to be remedying this and is making things right, but i really wish things were the way they are on their release.

the characters of season 3 were a mixed bag to me. the first two were fun to mess around with but didn't give much past that. aba and slayer, however, were two characters who kill very fast and still had great health and ways to deal with offense, definitely overtuned on release --

White wild assault was an issue for the longest, but with s3.5 they fixed all my issues with WA. no more hkd on wallsplat andwwa wasnt as oppressive. this was a great move for season 3 and helped to tone down what s3 had set up.

Wild assault was the most controversial mechanic introduced in s3, but i always was a fan of it! i think that the concept of a new offensive mechanic that uses burst adds a lot to the risk/reward of this games neutral and really let some characters shine

against some characters its straight up useless! nago is the main perpetrator of this, and i fear this will continue into season 4. i also believe that wild assault (at first) was poorly implemented, but at least that was fixed up and still has the opportunity to be useful on everyone

Starting off with what i didnt like -- the implementation of deflect shield. At first, i wanted this mechanic to be good and i really tried to make it work, yet i couldnt. its main use comes in niche scenarios (like the millia mu) but often times you are better off just blocking

With ggst s3 coming to a close in like an hour lol i wanna talk about season 3. I was a fan of strive throughout this, even through some of the more controversial decisions and i wanna go more into what i liked, didnt like, and what i think the game will look like in the future.

would be horrible to do this for ggst imo, the decision making that goes into roman cancel vs super is such an integral part of the series and some supers being a constatnt threat would be a nightmare to deal with

be cool and flashy like everyone else in the game. i really like the idea of looking at what each of these characters was meant to be and shifting things around based on that instead of their power currently, and i think that some minor balance changes can make things even better

after thinking about it a bit, i think im liking the new strive patch! some changes (potemkin, bridget, millia) make no sense to me. why make them struggle more? others, however, have me excited for the future of this game -- basically reworking ramlethal gives her more opportunities to (1/2)

at least they didnt kill jacko she just gets more risc than everyone else and 2D is a little worse but its okay cus servant shoot dash cancel is hype
