Both is good
02.10.2025 04:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the latest @resonite.com update I've integrated the OpenLipSync library created by KyuubiYoru from our own community.
I'm very happy there's finally an emerging alternative to the proprietary OVRLipSync, we needed one for so long.

So, because you personally don't like someone you are resorting to accusing them of liking kids, without any actual evidence. And also accusing them of grooming... without any actual evidence of such
Yknow if people would stop lying about peeps to start drama that would be better for actual victims
I just merged The Splittening branch(es) for @resonite.com internally!
We're not releasing to main yet, but this is pretty big moment, because this is one of the most complex technical undertakings I've done with FrooxEngine to date.

Tho luckily, the groups update has meant that we can just remove such people if they refuse to stop such actions.
Having a similar level of moderation control over VRC sessions as we've always had over Resonite sessions has been a godsend XD
Yup, the auto hider definitely helps.
Tho it also brings a second issue, with people building content specifically with that thing in mind, a lot of obnoxious people say "why shouldnt i use global flashing shaders etc just hide m avatar" which just leads to a very poor experience
not set up properly.
One of my most common experiences in VRC is someone pulling out some kind of toy and the Audio settings on that toy just being entirely unreasonable, either coming from the entirely wrong spot, being way too loud, or having a fall off curve to rival god
No it wont. Resonite has a mechanism to override Resolution.
Also Resonite has pretty much the best UGC quality out of any app because there is an active drive to teach people how to build their content.
Most of the content on VRC is lacking in proper optimisation and a lot of the time also
But what's really going to down the road show the difference is going to be when light baking and such come to resonite. And we can actually make a baked environment.
Personally I'd take more freedom any day over a more locked down system, all Resonite needs is more time to further optimize.
Doing the exact same thing as you do in Resonite on VRC would lead to terrible frame rates because the system is just not built for such content
The upgrade from Mono to .net9 in resonite is going to bring a pretty substantial increase in CPU performance as well as make Paralel tasks more efficient
People i can agree with thats just an issue solved by time and further development and optimisations.
But performance wise, Resonite has always been better, it's just that VRC worlds are heavily baked down, no realtime lighting, etc. Same for avatars.
I have been refreshing your page daily for creature information.
It was not in vain.
CREATURE HYPE
Well yeah that's what im talking about, most sophisticated crawlers wont really lose any significant time. but yeah.
As for IP blocks n such, i'd probably more depend on CFs detection for sus access and stuff like that, seems a lot more effective imo (and you could redirect)
Could even generate fake metadata to even further mess with image scrapers for AI content
26.01.2025 08:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah it's just very limited in effectiveness due to heuristics that crawlers already use to optimize processing load depending on what the goal of the crawler is.
If we added infinitely generate random noise images that would raise effectiveness against media scrapers
Unless those massive amounts of links appear at the very top of the page your content would still be indexed and even if its not visible you still have to generate and load the page with an ungodly amount of links for a human visitor which depending on implementation can significantly slow down load
26.01.2025 08:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tho this covers not a lot of people since most people post their stuff on, twitter, bluesky, da, and other sites that they have no control over and even if you were to host your own site, unless you shore it off from the web, google will index what content people visit as well (unless robots.txt)
26.01.2025 08:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ill add for the sake of full disclosure that you can kinda make this be useful if you host your own content on your own Server, host everything on 1 and the same server (so no CDNs or use of other content embedding) and you load a ton of these URLs before real content (this will hurt real visitors)
26.01.2025 08:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Here's a demo of the tool
(The slow loading of the page is intentional)
The way this functions is by simply slowly generating more and more links that can be visited on the same server.

Snarky?
I was being serious, reality is bleak and peeps find hope in stuff like this, it still gives it some value.
But hey if a fluff piece gives people hope let em have it i guess
23.01.2025 23:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The thing is this is pretty much a solved issue, web crawlers already need to be aware of recursive loops and can escape them, this doesnt really do anything unless someone wrote the crawler as their first programming project.
(This applies to both AI and non AI crawlers)
with the hood i am now just thinking about these cool critters with baggy tech pants with an excessive amount of straps on them that do absolutely nothing except look cool.
