Just watched the Halftime Show. I don't think I've ever been so moved to dance and cry at the exact same time in my life before. To paraphrase someone else's YouTube comment, I understood about 25% of what Bad Bunny said, but 1000% of what he meant.

Fringe uses of hairspray came up elsewhere. A friend mentioned using it for her potato cannon. In looking that up, I stumbled on what might be my favorite sentence yet: "The holding power of the hair spray is irrelevant to spray and pray cannon usage" (via spudfiles.com/viewtopic.ph...)

Realizing that a big reason why I'm very inconsistent about using alt text (and mostly don't) is because I'm a fucking perfectionist about it.

Hair product used to be more intense in scent (STRONG) & texture (stiff/sticky, which is also how it felt in your hair).

Thank goodness for modern innovation. Hairspray is less of an everyday thing and more of an occasion thing, and even the cheapest stuff doesn't reek the way it used to.

I hear a lot about how stinky the world used to be back when cigarette smoke was everywhere.

Another nostalgic scent that I do not miss one bit?
Hairspray.

Not only was hairspray stinkier in the past, but also it was commonly used by people of all genders as a casual everyday hairstyling product.

Also fucking wild that the same voice actor (Regina King) was behind Huey and Riley. Iconic.

Can't believe it took me this long and this many rewatches to realize that a lot of the casual background piano music in The Boondocks are homages to the music from the Peanuts TV specials.

It's honestly still such a novelty for me to have a reliably affectionate kitty for a roomie. Fostering meant dealing with hissy or at least tsundere ones. And now I have a cat in my house (former tsundere) all the time who is mine and always is down to give cuddles and get kisses. I feel so lucky.

She's using my bad knee as a pillow and the purrs are so soothing 🥺

While I'd much rather not be dealing w/my 1st-ever strep throat, spending a few sick days in bed reading a giant 700-page hardcover library book (The Covenant of Water) in between naps is hella nostalgic & pleasant, in its way.

Yes. I've always regretted not doing this exact thing.

There are worse feelings than hoping to sleep off an illness only to wait up from a long, cursed nap feeling way sicker, but not many, I think.

I love that there are finally a few artistic works that I can point to and say, yes, in my opinion, this accurately imparts what it *feels* like to be a sincerely and deeply religious person, which is a distinct thing from the depicting them, being by them, and/or being for them.
