I happened to be listening to Clearest Blue by CHVRCHES when I saw this post and it works remarkably well with the dance in the gif.

< that any slight credibility this callous, amoral man had in the first place is completely ruined. This book should not exist, period. I hate that I read it.

Review: What a hypocritical mess. The author tries to have it both ways, pretending to have a personal connection to and affinity for Britney Spears while also being part of the paparazzi>

< "Profanity", "harassment", "hate speech", "illegal activity", "private information"? That's what the book is about, FFS. The only one the book doesn't really contain is sexual content, at least not anything explicit.

So anyway, here is my horrible terrible no-good absolutely unpostable review.>

Just got an email from Amazon saying they "couldn't post [my] review of Waiting for Britney Spears" by Jeff Weiss b/c "it doesn't meet our guidelines for one or more of these reasons". Hilariously, all but one of the items on the list could easily be applied to the content of the book itself>

A lot of my sense of humor can be explained by the fact that my 3rd-grade teacher read the Wayside School books to us during a very sensitive and formative time in my life.

I recently re-read the older ones and then the newest one. They hold up, IMO, because they rely on slightly exaggerating the absurdity of real life at basically no one's expense.

If you want something new to you, speaking of Extremely Good & Thought-Provoking Sci-Fi By Extremely Good Writers, I just read The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories by Ken Liu & I immediately added to my To Be Re-Read pile. It is just that fantastic.

I've been tracking since 2007, which was a record year for me at 170. I doubt I'll ever beat that unless I somehow change careers to one where reading books is key, but hey.

Like, wtaf? Why oh why are you declaring yourself "non woke"? No one asked. You're not being racist, misgendering trans people, showing contempt for women, putting down disabled people, etc. It's fine.

It will never not be weird to be reading something that is neutral at worst or even actually very inclusive/affirming and then suddenly stumbling on a term like "non woke" used by the author to describe themselves.

Yet another wonderful reminder to me that no, I am not a drag, not unless I am not being dragged down.

It was also my 1st-ever w/o my ex-husband & his bestie. I was worried b/c they are far more into & informed about M:tG than I am. Not only was last night a total blast, I don't remember ever having this much fun at M:tG (my ex's pressure on me to enjoy & obsess over it as much as he did was A Lot).

Last night, I attended my 1st Magic: The Gathering in-person event since 2019. Pre-releases are my jam, so relaxed & friendly. It happened to be at a gay-owned store staffed by mostly LGBTQIA+ people <3 I'm definitely going back there for other events.

Cheap, readily available in unscented or whatever scent you want, effective, doesn't leave your hair crunchy, useful for skin as well, all that. Aloe vera gel is such a fantastic thing. And now I want an aloe drink.

My favorite product to revive my hair on days when I want it to look decent but I'm not washing it is plain aloe vera gel (not the after-sun stuff with numbing agents or weird colors). Works best if I run my dampened hands through my hair first.

For the 1st time in my life, I got promoted at the same workplace instead of getting let go then finding out I could make more $ elsewhere. Bought myself my 1st very fancy luxe brand fountain pen to celebrate. It's gorgeous. I think I picked the right ink for it, too.
