these kinds of horror stories are why i rarely blame any particular person for everything wrong with Sonic. it sounds like an incredibly stressful series to work on and its a miracle that we even get good projects out of it with how ridiculous SEGA management often is.

as a thirty year old who draws weird shit and does whatever she wants i have some advice to ppl who gotta hear it. it's literally impossible to please everyone. it's literally impossible to create and engage with things that won't bother *somebody*.

if you find yourself walking on eggshells cuz u think u might upset an acquaintance you friended 3+ years ago and barely engage with meaningfully.. try to take a deep breath and ask yourself if it's really worth it. are you limiting yourself and what you want to make because of this?

your friends and audience will find you. your friends and audience will also change. you cannot keep 100% of your friends forever, some will leave as you develop yourself and that's fine. friends are there for a reason, season, or a lifetime, and we just gotta find out who's who in that.

one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

It's crazy how it took the first two movies AND Frontiers succeeding for Sega to realize that people actually LIKED Sonic and that they should cater to those people instead of people who never liked the franchise to begin with.
