I made a lot of mistakes and I wasn't the nicest person because of what I was going through behind closed doors, but I was failed by so many adults. So many who ignored what I was trying to say, who were ignorant to what I didn't have the exact words for, who let me continue hurting needlessly.

I'm proud of how far I've come, even if it's a slow journey, but I will never stop feeling sorry for that kid. They didn't understand why they always felt like an outsider, they just wanted to matter to someone. They felt replacable but kept loving anyway, even when they did end up getting replaced.

I genuinely get so upset thinking about when I was younger. All the miscommunication and negative feelings, all that time being abused and feeling so alone. All the friends I lost but still love from afar. All that time being bullied and undiagnosed... I was just a kid, dude. I just wanted love.
