BCANβs Executive Director @hessann.bsky.social was recently interviewed by @wwlp-22news.bsky.social about the DPUβs Mass Save budget cuts. Watch the interview to learn more.
03.04.2025 16:54 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0We also echo the DPUβs call to fund the Mass Save program through non-ratepayer funds whenever possible. The current funding structure is not equitable nor financially sustainable as we improve the livability of our homes and combat climate change.
26.03.2025 03:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For too long, these have been privileges only afforded to βmarket-rate customers.β With this plan, the Commonwealth takes our greatest step towards changing that.
26.03.2025 03:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Even with a pared down budget, however, this Plan creates a historic investment in ensuring all of our working families can have warmer homes in the winter with reduced air pollution.
26.03.2025 03:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Moreover, they will not translate into meaningful cost savings for our families on energy bills. The real culprits of high energy billsβan aging and expensive gas pipeline system and utility profiteeringβremain unaddressed by the DPUβs proposed cuts.
26.03.2025 03:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0𧡠While we are glad to see the DPUβs approval of the Mass Save Three-Year Plan, we are disappointed to see cuts that will rob our Commonwealth of $1.5B in projected savings and benefits.
