But which is it? Is 3d printing not big enough to have the reach they expected and is 3d printing hurting their plastic sales? Why not release both? Thats my only argument.

I would have no issue with them releasing stls later than plastic kits, for example.

From a gamers POV, sure, you can have other proxies, issue is just that so far, I have not seen any STLs reach the heights of the pros that they have commissioned to produce these.

Maybe some day we will, but until then I am saddened by this bait and switch on why I backed TC in the first place 4/

The fact that they are coming from the 28 collected, a group of folks who broke away from GWs practices, only to redo what GW is doing with their kits leaves my head scratching

I am happy that Factory Fortress has the capability of producing high quality plastic kits as well. This WILL of course give them more reach by being able to put them on the retaillers shelves

You are correct that the main factions have STLs, however im referring to the fact that Trench Crusade explicitly wrote:

"We’re big believers in 3D printing and what it brings to wargaming, especially to our community members who are located in regions that are expensive to ship to." 1/

Im deeply saddened by the decision of the Trench Crusade team to discontinue STLs for major releases.

I came into the hobby because I truly believe 3d printing and open sourcing is the future but now its just become another GW plastic competitor.

Ill keep painting the models for now
